What to wear
Clothing Select outfits you like in the colors that you look best in. Choose both dressy and casual outfits to add variety to your portfolio. Simplicity is always in style. Avoid sleeveless outfits and busy patterns, and don’t forget all the accessories for the complete look–ties, belts, and shoes that match each outfit. For black and white portraits a leather or jean jacket and dark colors work well.
Glasses Glasses will glare in pictures, so if you wear glasses borrow a frame from your optician or have him or her remove your lenses.
Hair Wear your hair as you normally would. Have your perm and cut about two weeks before your session. It’s usually not a good idea to try a new hair style for your session.
Girls Wear your make up as you normally do. Any shiny areas need to be toned down with powder. If you want your hands to show make sure your manicure is complete.
Guys Be sure to shave closely that morning or shave just prior to your session.
Suntans Avoid tanning right before your session. Sunburns require rescheduling! Keep your tan even and not too dark. Tan lines, strap marks and sunburns cannot be retouched.
